Measure body fat

How to measure body fat.

You can measure your body fat in three common ways. You can use a body fat analyzer, you just stand on it and in moments you have your body fat percentage. You can buy an inexpensive one for about $20-$30.

You can use a skin fold caliper which pinches your skin and calculates how much of you is fat. Calipers can be unreliable so you will have to take multiple readings to get an accurate result. Basically pinching yourself a bunch of times to get a result. Skin calipers can run about $10-$30.

The last method which is the most accurate but also the most time consuming is hydrostatic weighing. You sit in a water tank which has a scale inside it and you breath out and hold your breath under water for a few seconds. These tests can run about $10-$75 each.

Using a body fat analyzer is comparable in terms of cost to the caliper and it also takes the least amount of time. So if you want to measure your body fat you would probably want to go with a body fat analyzer.
