Revealed - Why Diets Don't Work

How many different diets have you tried in the past that simply haven't worked? Why do most diets fail to deliver on their promises? Many individuals believe the myth that eating less will be a healthy way to weight loss. What really happens is when we go on a low calorie diet we are more likely to remain the same or even gain weight. The human body is designed to regard less food intake with starvation. By reducing the quantity of food we eat we send our body into starvation preservation mode.

Studies show that thin people tend to eat a diet that contain lots of complex carbohydrates (like vegetables, pulses etc) and people who are overweight follow diets that are high in fat and simple carbs. Being able to interpret what these studies tell us about which factors contribute to weight loss is crucial when creating a weight loss program. One of the best ways to lose weight quickly is to adopt a low carb diet where you're very careful about the high GI carbohydrate you consume each day, but are less restrictive about the other foods. You still need to make sure you don't overeat, by keeping your portion sizes down, and make sure you get the right combination of healthy nutritious foods which are also low in saturated fats.

The weight gain is largely a factor of lifestyle and eating habits and the weight gradually crept up over time rather than overnight. As it took so long for the weight to creep up, getting back to your normal weight won't happen in an instant. People who don't understand the balance between a healthy diet, getting plenty of water, physical exercises and making sure they get enough sleep are easy prey to those pushing the latest fad diet, weight loss pill or quick weight loss plan. It's not hard to find these fad or celebrity weight loss plans and diet pills. Because most individuals today have been programmed to want everything now, it's very easy to believe that there indeed magic weight loss pills to take the weight off very quickly, than to conceive that we have the ability to change our lives and live healthier longer lives where being overweight and unhealthy is the thing of the past.

Diets fail because they do not teach you to build a balance within your body. Most diets fail because they are designed around making someone or some company money instead of making a weight loss plan or program that will truly aid a person to lose weight.

It's well known that those who are carrying excess weight are at increased risk of diseases and other serious health problems because of obesity. Eating high levels of saturated fat is one of the major reasons for unnecessary body fat.

People have been taught for far too long that they need to eat a lot less or rigorously count calories in order to burn off excess fat. The truth of the matter is that our bodies are very proficient when it has to manage weight if we give them what they need to stay healthy - like getting enough sleep, plenty of water, eat healthy and nutritious foods, and some regular physical exercise.

Losing weight is not simply about calorie counting, you should also not overeat. Healthy portions of wholesome foods are crucial to losing weight. Another key to losing weight is not leading a sedentary life but one that involves giving your body the daily physical activity that it craves. Our bodies like to be physically active!
